Who We Are

For more than 25 years, I worked in law enforcement — building cases, collecting evidence, and learning firsthand exactly how police investigations are run. That experience is the foundation of Gold Star Investigations, and it's what makes my work especially valuable to criminal defense attorneys and the people they represent.

Here's something most people never consider: a police investigation is built to establish guilt, not innocence. Officers are trained to develop probable cause and support an arrest — not to go looking for the facts that might clear a suspect. As a result, the evidence that could help a defense is often the evidence no one was ever assigned to find.

That's where I come in. Because I spent decades on the law-enforcement side, I know how investigations are conducted, how evidence is gathered and documented, and where leads get left unexplored. I put that knowledge to work in reverse — re-examining the reports, the digital evidence, the witness statements, and the scene itself to surface what was missed, misread, or never pursued. My training includes specialized skills in cell phone forensic examinations, digital forensics, and a range of other investigative methods, backed by extensive courtroom experience testifying in local, state, and federal courts.
